Making an incomplete, inaccurate or misleading statement about an individuals health care position may have major consequences. It can also apply to statements about yourself. Whether it is to a patients employer, a health fund, regulator , an insurer or the courts, it is imperative that statements are correct. This webinar will highlight the hazards of navigating through making a statement and the consequences associated with not providing the correct details. The regulator requirements under your code of conduct will be carefully articulated .Statutory declarations affidavits and oral evidence in court will all be discussed. Importantly your involvement with Medicare and your obligations to make declarations to AHPRA within the required timeframes are all covered.

Ms Kellie Dell'Oro is a Senior Lawyer at Meridian Lawyers. Ms Dell'Oro draws on more than 20 years of experience devoted exclusively to insurance and health law. Throughout her career, Ms Dell'Oro has acted for the Victorian insurer of public hospitals, many private hospitals (both directly and through insurers ), pathology companies and medical and allied health practitioners. She has assisted and represented many practitioners in negligence claims, Coronial inquest AHPRA and other regulatory investigations.
